Vagabond tours chosen to represent Ireland

Vagabond tours are delighted to announce that we have been chosen by Failte Ireland (the Irish Tourism Board) to be part of the Team representing Ireland at the attending the Adventure Travel World Summit in Mexico this month. The event is organised by the Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA) and it is a great opportunity for us raise the profile of Ireland as an adventure destination and of course Vagabond as a leading adventure tour company.

New Vagabond and Driftwood tours and departure dates for 2012

We are delighted to announce the further evolution of our tour itineraries for next year and we will be changing the 11 and 7 day tours currently advertised on our website to spend two nights in Dingle, so that we can have an activity/free time day there. This means that we have 5, 6,7 8 and 12 day tour options available. We think these changes will only serve to enhance what are already superb tours. We hope to have all the changes and the 2102 departure dates online as soon as possible but you would like the dates and itineraries we would be delighted to email them to you now

To give you a run-down of all the tours, basically we can split the trips into three main types

6, 7 and 8 days in Southwest and Western Ireland; These awesome adventures first head down to the South-West of Ireland to cover the Cork and Kerry areas and the Dingle, Beara and Iveragh peninsulas. It it a part of Ireland that typifies the friendliness, welcome, scenery and history that make Ireland such a great place to visit (and live). Two nights of each tour are spent in the vibrant town of Dingle, so we will have plenty of time to explore the region, do some great activities, meet the locals and just relax and enjoy the atmosphere. And then the 7 and 8 day tours also then heads north to cover the western areas. Both go as far North as Galway city, via the River Shannon, Cliffs of Moher, County Clare and the Burren and while the folks on the seven day trip head home from Galway on the train, the eight day tour offers the chance to cross Galway bay, stopping at the Aran Islands on the way and spending the last night in the wild and rugged Connemara region.

5 and 7 day Northern, Northwest and Western Ireland: Plus of course our ‘Northern Island’ tour for five days which includes Northern Ireland and the North West; this is also a superb trip and possibly our most off-the-beaten track tour. The scenery is just as good as the south and west, there are some fantastic walks and activity options and also there is the fascinating history and politics stretching from pre-historic times right up to the modern day.

12 day Giant Irish Adventure: An amazing expedition that covers the north, northwest, west and southwest of Ireland by combining our 5 day NI and 8 day southern trip to create en experience that shows visitors more of Ireland than most Irish people would see in a lifetime.

We are also finalising the itineraries for the new 5 day Northern Ireland Driftwood tour and the new 11 day Driftwood tours, and hope to have the details available very soon too.
